As a coach to many crazy busy entrepreneurs, I am often asked, “What calendar system should I use?”
Admittedly cryptic, my answer is usually, “The best one for you.”
“The best calendar system” for the general public simply doesn’t exist. And the best choice for you depends on your balance between actual appointments and tasks, your likes/dislikes of technology tools, how visual you are, whether or not others (employees and/or family) need access to your schedule, and on and on and on.
Regardless of a client’s needs in this area, however, there is one piece of advice that I can give to everyone:
Have only one calendar.
In nearly every case I’ve seen, trying to keep separate calendars for work and business fails miserably. Missed appointments….double-bookings….it’s just plain ugly. You have one life, so you need one calendar system!
